Herbs for Liver and Skin Health

Should we detoxify our bodies? What does this even mean? How does the liver work? What herbs can we incorporate into daily life that will enhance our livers’ functioning? What herbs can heal chronic skin irritations and how do we use them? How do we make remedies with them and what dose do we use? You will make and take an herbal remedy specific to your needs tincture and sample many other herbs
Brighid Doherty is an herbalist who finds inspiration in the Wise Woman Tradition of Healing. She is a passionate herbal health educator and professional gardener. She is the founder of The Solidago School of Herbalism and co-founder of the Dandelion Herbal Collective, both located on Deer Isle. For the past two decades, Brighid has worked with medicinal plants in a variety of ways; as a student and a teacher, a gardener and a forager, a medicine maker and health consultant. She received a BA focused in organic agriculture and herbal medicine from Evergreen State College. She has had many wonderful herbalist mentors including Susun Weed, Rosemary Gladstar, Juliet Blankespoor, and KP Khalsa. She leads and teaches a variety of workshops including medicinal plant walks, herbal spa , hands-on medicine making, materia medica for the body systems and herb themed retreats. Brighid inspires self-reliant health care by teaching people how to bring herbal medicine into their lives by relating to the plants in their bodies, kitchens, gardens and in the wild.
Space is limited to 10 for each class. Due to the limited size of classes, we ask that payment be made in advance to hold your space.
In the event that you need to cancel and give 24 hours notice, 50% of your payment will be returned to you. Refunds will not be given due to weather. In the event of cancellation due to weather, classes will be bumped forward a week and you will be notified of any changes.
